As a small rehabber, linking up was one of the best things I did. Having someone to swap animals with is invaluable. If you have one Starling but 5 Sparrows and another rescue has a group of Starlings and a lone Sparrow, this swapping system gives those animals the absolute best chance of a successful return to the wild. Similarly, if you are great at rearing but short on space, linking up with someone who has more aviary space is essential.
